11.22.16 Gundelfingen-Offingen – Start of the ecological dam restoration in Offingen

Along a lenght of around 500 m at the northern side of the Danube at the barrage of Offingen the dam shall be remediated in an ecological way. The construction works will take around 6 weeks. Specific bentonite mats allow for both the stability of the dam, as well as the ecological base of the riverbank structures. Therefore, valuable new habitats will be created for many endangered animal and plant species.
The city council of Gundelfingen and the municipal council of Offingen informed on site about the project.
