Kick-off meeting of the LIFE+ -“water projects” in Lisbon

The official launch of the LIFE+ – projects,  related to the protection of water in Europe, already took place in Lisbon in November.

The aim of the meeting was to promote the exchange of ideas and experiences between the projects and to convey the substantial and organizational expectations of the EU again. The event was led by representatives of EASME (the organization of the EU that is responsible for the implementation of the LIFE+ program) and the NEEMO that accompanies the approved projects on behalf of the EU.

All participants had the opportunity to present their innovative ideas in a brief presentation and to discuss with the participants. The INADAR – approach created great interest and the EU representatives underlined their high expectations.

Joint site visit on the Danube

In the area of the barrage Günzburg already three small test sites exist. There the basic concept  for the INADAR project was examined. The project partners of UIBK and the VGB were invited to get an overview of the eco-berms and the environmental measures on the spot. In addition, the areas of the barrages in Offingen and Oberelchingen were visited, where the implementation of INADAR project will take place.

First meeting of the control circuit

The stakeholders in the Danube region, in which the INADAR project will be implemented, as well as representatives of the Bavarian Ministry for Environment and Consumer Protection met in Leipheim, to learn more about the project. Participants were invited to join the project actively and to contribute with their specific know-how in the implementation. The control circuit will meet in the future at least twice a year to ensure the intensive exchange.
